objectives and functions of Committee for SC/ST

Keeping in mind the guidelines provided by the UGC  (https://www.ugc.ac.in/oldpdf/xiplanpdf/specialcellscstinuniver.pdf), Southfield College, Darjeeling has formed the Committee for SC/ST  with the following Objectives, at par with the UGC guidelines:

  1. Ensure that SC/ST reservation policy of the Government of India, is strictly followed while recruitment
  2. Ensure that SC/ST reservation policy of the Government of India is strictly followed while admission of the students
  3. Circulate Government orders about the various schemes related to SC/ST people
  4. To deal with representations received from SC/ST people in terms of grievances, clarifications, assistance etc.
  5. To promote the culture of inclusiveness in the college campus

objectives and functions of oBC Cell

Southfield College, Darjeeling has formed the Committee for the OBC Cell with the following Objectives:

  1. Ensure that OBC (creamy and non creamy layers) reservation policy of the Government of India and Government of West Bengal, are strictly followed while recruitment
  2. Ensure that OBC (creamy and non creamy layers) reservation policy of the Central Government and State Government are strictly followed while admission of the students
  3. Circulate Government orders about the various schemes related to OBC people
  4. To deal with representations received from OBC people in terms of grievances, clarifications, assistance etc.
  5. To promote the culture of inclusiveness in the college campus

objectives and functions of Minority Cell

Southfield College, Darjeeling has formed the Committee for the Minority Cell with the following Objectives:

  1. Ensure that reservation policy of the Government of West Bengal, where the Muslim minorities are entitled to get reservations through OBC B, is strictly followed while recruitment
  2. Ensure that reservation policy of the Government of West Bengal, where the Muslim minorities are entitled to get reservations through OBC B, is strictly followed while admission of the students
  3. Circulate Government orders about the various schemes related to the Minority people
  4. To deal with representations received from Minority people in terms of grievances, clarifications, assistance etc.
  5. To promote the culture of Communal Harmony in the college campus.
